Dental Implants

Dental tooth implant can be used to replace missing teeth and provide a fixed solution for having dentures.

Implants are artificial teeth that are placed into the jaw bone by a dentist or Periodontist. The implants have natural-looking teeth that are often used to restore a patient’s smile. Implants can provide excellent support and stability for dental appliances.

A dentist will insert titanium screws into a patient’s jaw to affix a crown or tooth. Osseointegration is a process in which titanium implants are naturally fused with bone over time. If there is enough bone for the implants, tooth implant surgery can replace one or more teeth. If you want to prevent bone loss at the site after losing a tooth, you should have the implant procedure done as soon as possible.

Dental tooth implant can last many years. Sometimes, they will have to be re-tightened or replaced due to normal wear.

Reasons for dental implants:

  • Replace missing teeth without affecting adjacent teeth.
  • Restore a patient’s confident smile.
  • Support a denture or bridge, making it more comfortable and secure.
  • Restore chewing, speech, and digestion.
  • Resolve joint pain or bite problems resulting from teeth shifting into missing tooth space.
  • Enhance or restore facial tissues.

What does getting dental tooth implant involve?

Several visits are required for the process of getting tooth implant.

To determine bone, gum tissue, and spacing for an implant, X-rays, and impressions are taken of the jaw and teeth. While the area is numb, the implant will be placed into the bone and heal and integrate itself for up to six months. A second surgery may be necessary to secure the post that will hold the artificial tooth in place. The post and anchor are attached at the same time as other implants.

The artificial teeth are fitted to the post portion of the anchor after a few weeks of healing. It can range from one to two months for this step to be completed because of several fittings. After a standard healing period, the artificial teeth are attached to the tooth implant and provide excellent stability and comfort.

Care instructions will be given when your treatment is over. The life of your new implant can be improved by good oral hygiene and eating habits.
